4.3 Activating and
Deactivating
Suction Pads

Individual suction pads can be activated or deactivated with the aid of valves
on lifting devices with the appropriate feature. These valves are located either
on the suction pads or on the vacuum distributor.
Deactivating suction pads reduces the load carrying capacity of the device.
Deactivate suction pads which are not in contact with the load. Otherwise, no
vacuum can be generated.
Active or deactivate the suction pads only when no load is attached. Attempting
to activate or deactivate suction pads when a load is attached will cause the
vacuum to break down and the load will be dropped.
