3.4 Suction Pads

The suction pads are designed to lift various items. Only items with smooth, air-
tight surfaces are suitable for vacuum lifting.
To generate vacuum, all suction pads must be in contact with and attached to
the load (exception: devices with switchable suction pads).
Individual suction pads can be activated or deactivated with the aid of valves
on lifting devices with the special feature.
Deactivating suction pads reduces the load carrying capacity of the device.
Deactivate suction pads which do attach themselves to the load, since no
vacuum can be generated if this is not done.
Activate or deactivate the suction pads only when no load is attached.
Attempting to activate or deactivate the suction pads with a load attached will
cause the vacuum to break down and the load will be dropped.
3.5 Accessories
Holder for chain-hoist

The control box for the chain hoist can be mounted with this holder on the
operator handle of the

. It can be mounted at any desired height
by means of the Velcro fasteners.
Valve for disabling
individual suction pads
If some of the suction pads are not in contact with the workpiece, they can be
disabled manually with individual valves.
Note that this will reduce the carrying capacity of the
V
ACU
M
ASTER
proportionally to the number of suction pads disabled.!
