Ethernet 1 (LAN)
In this panel, the network associated with the communication gateway local area network
(LAN) is defi ned for management devices connecting to physical Ethernet Port 1. See
Figure 14. As noted earlier, the communication gateway ships with a default IP address
of 192.168.1.1, a NetMask equal to 255.255.255.0, and DHCP set to “On.” To modify these
values for the communication gateway LAN, the fi elds that require identifi cation are the
Static IP Address
,
NetMask
, and
DHCP Server
.
Note:
The
DHCP
toggle button either enables or disables dynamic host control proto-
col (DHCP) services on physical Ethernet Port 1.

The fields required within this panel are determined by the
DHCP
button toggled to
the
On
or
Off
positions. With DHCP in the
Off
position, management devices connected
to communication gateway’s physical Port 1 must be configured with a static IP address
that resides in the communication gateway’s LAN IP range identified by the NetMask
setting in the previous field.
