MF/AF (Manual Focus/Auto Focus) MF/AF (Manual Focus/Auto Focus
<Mise au point manuelle/automatique>)

The MF/AF function works in CAMCORDER and CAMERA modes.
✤
In most situations, it is better to use the automatic focus
feature, as it enables you to concentrate on the creative side of
your recording.
✤
Manual focusing may be necessary under certain conditions that
make automatic focusing difficult and/or unreliable.
Auto Focusing
✤
In CAMCORDER Mode, turning on the
device will set it to automatic focus.
In CAMERA Mode, pressing the Photo
Button halfway down will set the focus.
Manual Focusing
✤
In the following cases you may obtain bet-
ter results by adjusting the focus manually.
a. A picture containing several objects, some
close to the camcorder, others further away.
b. A person enveloped in fog or surrounded by
snow.
c. Very shiny or glossy surfaces like a car.
d. People or objects moving constantly or quickly
like an athlete or a crowd.
1. Set the Power Switch to REC mode.
2. Press the MF Button.
■ MF Icon( ) is displayed on the LCD
screen.
3. Turn the MENU DIAL up or down until the object is in focus.

Zoom out a little if focusing is difficult.
4. To return to AF, press the MF Button again.

La fonction MF/AF <MF/AF> est disponible en modes CAMCORDER
<CAMESCOPE> et CAMERA <APPAREIL PHOTO>.

Dans la plupart des cas, mieux vaut utiliser la mise au point
automatique car elle permet de vous concentrer sur l’aspect créatif de l’en-
registrement.

L’utilisation de la mise au point manuelle peut s’avérer nécessaire dans les
cas où la mise au point automatique est inadéquate.
Mise au point automatique

En mode CAMCORDER <CAMESCOPE>,
l’appareil s’allume en mise au point
automatique.
En mode CAMERA <APPAREIL PHOTO>,
enfoncez la touche Photo à mi-course pour
régler la mise au point.
Mise au point manuelle
✤
Vous obtiendrez de meilleurs résultats en
effectuant une mise au point manuelle dans
les cas suivants.
a. Image contenant plusieurs objets, dont certains
sont proches du caméscope, d’autres plus
éloignés.
b. Sujet dans la neige ou la brume.
c. Surfaces très brillantes (une voiture, par exemple).
d. Sujets ou objets en déplacement rapide ou continu
(un sportif ou une foule, par exemple).
1. Réglez le commutateur sur le mode REC <ENR.>.
2. Appuyez sur la touche MF.
■ L'icône MF ( ) s'affiche sur l'écran LCD.
3. Faites tourner la molette MENU vers le haut ou
vers le bas jusqu’à ce que la scène soit nette.
■ Vous pouvez obtenir une image
nette en effectuant un léger zoom arrière.
4. Pour retourner en mode automatique, appuyez de
nouveau sur la touche MF.
