13 Disposal
At the end of their life cycle PFEIFFER actuators can be complete-
ly disassembled and disposed sorting the components by the dif-
ferent materials.

Observe local, national and international refuse regulations
All materials have been selected in order to ensure minimal envi-
ronmental impact, health and safety of personnel during their in-
stallation and maintenance, provided that, during use, they are
not contaminated by hazardous substances.
Oil, grease and electric components may require special treat-
ment before disposal.
Ö
Contact waste management companies and/or local authori-
ties.
Risk of personal injury due to preloaded and compressed
springs!
End caps are under tension due to compressed springs. Further-
more incorrect spring cartidges disassembly could result in seri-
ous injury.

Before starting any work on the actuator disconnect all pneu-
matic / hydraulic / electrical supplies and discharge the
pressure from the actuator.

Make sure that the actuator is in the closed position (0°).
Ö
Do not disassemble individual spring cartridges.
Ö
For spring cartidges service contact PFEIFFER after-sales ser-
vice.
The disposal is to be performed by fully trained and quali fi ed
personnel only.
Ö
Decomission and remove the actuator, refer to section “10
Decomissioning” and section “11 Removal”.
Ö
Create a large area around the actuator in order to work in
safe conditions without obstacles that can interfere with the
disposal operation.
Ö
Dismantle the actuator sorting the components by the differ-
ent materials.
