LEMON (POPPY SEED) DONUTS
1/2 cup All-purpose flour
3 tbsp. Sugar
1 tbsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. Grated lemon peel
1/4 cup Low fat plain yogurt
2 tbsp. Fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 large Egg
1 tbsp. Vegetable oil
1 tsp. Poppy seeds (optional)
Preheat donut maker for 5 minutes.
Combine dry ingredients in medium mixing bowl. Make a well in center; add
yogurt, lemon juice, egg and oil. Stir just until dry ingredients are moistened and
batter is smooth. Stir in poppy seeds, if desired.
Fill each donut cavity with batter. Close unit and lock in place. Bake 2-1/2 to 3-
1/2 minutes or until donuts are brown.
Remove donuts from Donut Maker; repeat with remaining batter.
Makes approximately 18 donuts.
ORANGE DONUTS
1/2 cup All-purpose flour
2 tbsp Sugar
2 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. Grated lemon peel (optional)
1/4 cup Frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed *
2 tbsp. Milk
1 large Egg
1 tbsp. Vegetable oil
Preheat Donut Maker for 5 minutes.
Combine dry ingredients in medium mixing bowl. Make a well in center; add
orange juice, milk, egg and oil. Stir just until dry ingredients are moistened and
batter is smooth.
Fill each donut cavity with batter. Close unit and lock in place. Bake 2-1/2 to 3-
1/2 minutes or until donuts are brown.
Remove donuts from Donut Maker; repeat with remaining batter.
Makes approximately 15 donuts.
* Substitute cranberry, grape, pineapple or your favorite frozen juice
concentrate.
