Fig. 13. Work priorities in "PeakLoad".
When the installation's consumption is lower than the
previously-defined
P
MAX
parameter, the consumption loads
are first supplied from the solar panel power and the shortfall
comes from the grid, while the battery is charged from the
grid surpluses (these surpluses are the grid power that is
missing until the
P
MAX
value is reached) and from the solar
panel surpluses, if there are any.
2.
Scenario 2:
Consumption of the installation higher than
P
MAX
,
but solar panel power higher than the consumption peak.

In this case, the installation's consumption is higher than
P
MAX
, resulting in an over-peak consumption, but this over-
peak is settled with the solar panel power. Their surpluses are
directed to the battery charge.
3.
Scenario 2.1
: Consumption of the installation higher than
P
MAX
and over-peak consumption higher than solar panel
power.

Fig. 17. Work priorities in "PeakLoad2.1".
When the consumption power is higher than
P
MAX
and also
the over-peak consumption is unattainable with the solar
panel power, the battery power is used to supply the missing
consumption.
To better illustrate all the scenarios described in the "Peak-
load" operation, the following graph has been created that
simulates the energy flows in a photovoltaic installation with
battery for one day:
Scenario 1
Consumption
PV generation
Battery

Power (kW)
Scenario 1
Time (h)

Scenario 2 Scenario 2.1
Fig. 18. Simulation of energy flows per day.
Red shows the installation's consumption, green the power
generated from solar panels, yellow the battery's state of
charge and blue the battery power (negative power indicates
that the battery is charging and positive power indicates that
it is discharging). The red line indicates the established power
limit contracted from the grid (
P
MAX
). In Fig. 18, the three
scenarios described above can be seen clearly.
Questions
Answers
1
What is the
maximum
generation power?
The maximum generation power is PAC.
2
Is there
a prioritisation
between load and
Back-up Load?
No, the two loads are joined as if they were just
one, even though the Back-up Load has a limit,
as mentioned in FAQ2.
