16 Program 10 – direct frequency request with the CompTrol Master
16.1 Description
The compressor frequency of the outdoor unit can be controlled via a bus signal from the
CompTrol Master expansion module.
Direct frequency request is available with the following unit series from Mitsubishi Heavy
Industries:

FDS series
●
S series
Direct frequency request is not available with KX and SX series air conditioning units.
For program 10, two to five CompTrol Interface expansion modules and one CompTrol Master
expansion module are required. Program 10 is available with CompTrol Interface V4.0.3 or higher.
Functions such as remote ON/OFF, mode (Heating, Fan, Cooling, Dehumidification), Center, and
fan speeds are switched via the digital inputs of the CompTrol Master and transferred to the
CompTrol Interface.
The inversion of digital outputs is an optional function.
The indoor unit can be switched on or off using remote ON/OFF.
The common alarm, compressor signal and defrost signal are emitted via the digital outputs.
In the event of a system error, an alarm signal is emitted via a digital output.
16.2 Configuring the CompTrol Interface for program 10
IMPORTANT
●
If you switch from program 8, 9, or 10 to programs 0 and 2 to 7 without cutting the power first,
the control behavior of the air conditioning system will be adversely affected.
●
Disconnect all components of the air conditioning system from the electrical supply before
switching from program 8, 9, or 10 to programs 0 and 2 to 7. Then restart all the components
of the air conditioning system (indoor units, outdoor units, CompTrol Interface, wired remote
control, heat exchanger connection module, etc.).

Only set DIP switches when they are disconnected from the electrical supply. Changed set -
tings only reliably become effective after a system restart. An exception here are DIP switches
S1-7 and S1-8 , which govern the behavior of the 7-segment display. These DIP switches for
display behavior can also be set during ongoing operation.

When reading the current DIP switch positions, bear in mind the horizontal installation posi -
tion of the CompTrol Interface! The
ON
switch setting is the one closest to the center of the
expansion module.

Set inoperative DIP switches to OFF .
