• c[channel number] identifies the channel number.
• [connection identifier] identifies the type of connection. The connection identifier can be any of the
following:
• ppp
• hdlc-eth
• hdlc-eth with VLAN ID
• mlppp with a bundle number
• fN for frame relay, where N is the Data Link Connection Identifier (DLCI), which is a four-digit
number in the range of 0016 to 1007.
Examples:
• te1-4-1c01 represents t1/e1 in slot 4 port 1, channel 1 is configured for hdlc-eth
• te1-4-1c01.0012 represents t1/e1 in slot 4 port 1, channel 1 is configured for hdlc-eth with VLAN 12
• te1-4-1c03ppp represents t1/e1 in slot 4 port 1, channel 3 is configured for ppp
• te1-4-1c04f0101 represents t1/e1 in slot 4 port 1, channel 4 is configured for FR DLCI 101
• te1-mlppp-01 represents mlppp bundle 1
You can assign an IP Address for a t1/e1 logical interface in the IP submenu available from the main
menu.

Other than hdlc-eth, all other logical interfaces over t1/e1 are considered to be point to
point links. Therefore, the only acceptable subnet mask for the point-to-point link is /32.
