Configuring the 5GHz Antenna Gain
The 7762-S AP allows you to configure the gain of the two 5GHz external antennas (not
supplied). There are two ways you can configure the 5GHz antenna gain:

Configure the Antenna Gain from the AP CLI
■
Configure the Antenna Gain from the ZoneDirector Web Interface
Maximum Antenna Gain Value
The maximum value for the antenna gain that you should set depends on the type of
external antennas that you are connecting to the AP. Refer to
Table 6
for the recommended
antenna gain values that you can use for different antenna types.
Configure the Antenna Gain from the AP CLI
To configure the 5GHz antenna gain from the AP CLI
1.
Log in to the 7762-S AP via the command line interface.
2.
Set the 5GHz antenna gain by entering the following command:
set extantgain <wifi name> <0 - 90dBi>
3.
Verify that the antenna gain has been configured by entering the following command:
get extantgain <wifi name>
You have completed configuring the 5GHz antenna gain from the AP CLI.
Configure the Antenna Gain from the ZoneDirector Web
Interface
To configure the 5GHz antenna gain from the ZoneDirector Web interface
1.
Log in to the Web interface of the ZoneDirector device that is managing the 7762-S AP.
2.
Go to the
Configure
>
Access Points
page.
3.
In the Access Points table, look for the 7762-S AP that you want to configure, and then
click the
Edit
link that is in the same row as the AP name.
The
Editing {MAC Address}
form appears.
4.
Scroll down to the
Radio A/N (5.0 GHz)
section of the form.
