Pole uphaul/downhaul

g) Spinnaker pole set up

Put the spinnaker pole between the middle two knots of the yellow uphaul/downhaul and

attach the inboard end to the eye on the front of the mast.

There should be about 20mm of slack before the bottom elasticated end of the downhaul

comes up against it’s stop inside the mast. If it is significantly more than this, remove the pole

and shorten the uphaul (top end of yellow rope) accordingly. You may also need to adjust the

position of the 6 knots in the rope so that the pole is just above horizontal when between the

middle two knots.

pole attached to the boat

in the event of capsize.
