Gear oil specification
The initial filling is SAE 80 API-GL 5. Alternative gear oils
are SAE 80W-90, SAE 75W or SAE 90. Different gear oils
must not be mixed.
Working steps:
1.
Preparatory work:
- If necessary warm up the gear oil to min. 10°C. To do so
fully pay out and reel in the rope once at rated speed.
- Place the winch in a way that the axis of the drum is hori-
zontally oriented.
- Keep the winch in this orientation for 10 minutes to allow
the oil to accumulate.
2.
Oil level check:
- Unscrew level screw (N).
- Oil level is sufficient, if a little amount of gear oil comes
out of the level screw opening (N).
- Close level screw (N)
- If the level is too low, proceed as described in step 4.
3.
Drain old gear oil:
- Pay out the rope until there is access to the oil draining
screw (E/A).
- Turn the drum, until the screw (E/A) is positioned under-
neath the drum.
