Now that the oil has been returned to the main oil tank via the scavenge pump it is now waiting to be  

 

 

pumped back into the engine by the pressure pump located low under the intake manifold casting. A hose  

 

fitted to the lowest point of the oil tank supplies oil to the inlet suction side (yellow arrow) of the pressure  

 

pump (Fig 28.).

5. 

The oil then exits the pressure pump from it’s port side fitting (fig 28. Red arrow) a hose connects this fitting  

 

to the three way oil filter / relief valve body (fig 29.) which is remotely mounted as close to the engine as   

 

practicality possible (eg. fire wall).
