
Video Input Setup
Video inputs to the Carbonite Black UltraChrome have
the additional options of being able to assign a garbage
matte/mask to a source, as well as assign the source
with the UltraChromeHR 0:4:4 video.
Note:
The special UltraChromeHR chroma key input requires
an ACID camera with the 0:4:4 video output stream.
Source Names
Each video source in the switcher can be given a
unique name.
To Set Up a Source Name
Source names are restricted to eight characters in
length.

if you are naming a physical
input, or
Internal
if you are naming an internal
input.
2.
Enter a new name in the text box for the video
input that you want to name.
3.
Click on the
Size
button and select the size of the
font for the mnemonic display.
•
Large
— first two characters are shown
•
Medium
— all eight (8) characters are shown
on two lines with four characters on the top
line
•
Small
— all eight (8) characters are shown on
two lines with six characters on the top line
4.
Click on the
Color
button and select the color you
want to use for the background of the mnemonic
display.
5.
Click the
Inverse
button and click
Yes
to invert
the background color and the font color, or
No
to
not invert the colors.
Video Setup
Inputs are separated into physical and internal.
Physical inputs are the video sources on the BNC at the
back of the frame. Internal sources are video sources
that are generated internally.
To Set The Video Mode
1.

Each input number corresponds to an input BNC
on the back of the frame.
2.
Click the
Vidmode
button for the input you want
to set the video mode for and select a video mode.
•
HD/3G
— the video input on this BNC is in an
HD or 3G video format.
•
SD
— the video input on this BNC is in an SD
video format.
To Set Up an Auto Key Association
As well as input sources, internally generated sources,
such as media-stores and color backgrounds, can be set
up as an auto key.

setting up the auto key for an internal input.

Click the
Alpha Source
button for the key video
source that you want to assign an alpha to.
3.
Click the key alpha source that you want to assign
to the key video.

Alpha Mode

and select the alpha mode for the key alpha.

gradient values of the alpha (gray)

the monochrome value of the alpha (black or
white)
