Encoder Configuration • 3–7

using the fixed values. Consult your network administrator as to whether your network 
uses DHCP. In the event of a DHCP failure, the encoder uses the ‘IP Address’, 
‘Netmask’, and ‘Gateway’ displayed as defaults.

Properties

 — This button allows the displayed items in the TCP/IP area to be altered 

using the 

LAN Configuration

 menu.

LAN Configuration Menu

This menu is displayed when you select the 

Properties

 button within the TCP/IP area of the 

main TES9Set menu. The LAN Configuration menu allows you to set the TCP/IP related 
parameters used for the LAN connections.

LAN Configuration Menu

The meaning of the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and the DHCP control are described in 
the TCP/IP area of the main TES9Set menu.

The TCP/IP ports are similar to serial ports on a serial encoder, as they are used as data sources. 
You should not have to change the default port addresses unless you have a program which 
expects to send data to a particular port address which is not one of the defaults. Ross Video uses 
port numbers 1080 and 1090 for configuration of the encoder, so these port numbers cannot be 
used for a stream. 

Program 1/Program 2 Tabs

Use these tabs to select which video channel you are setting up. The selected encoder is 
PROGRAM 1 or PROGRAM 2, respectively. The screen will change to show the current 
modules set up for the selected program.

General Config Area

General Config applies to the currently selected program. There are two boxes to control the 
video mode of the program and a button to select line usage.

Note

 — After saving and exiting the setup software, the TES9 must be powered off and 

back on if you have changed the DHCP On/Off, IP Address, Subnet Mask or Gateway 
settings.
