BAP User Guide (v1.0)
It is recommended to leave the
Watermark Type
set to the default value.
3. Set the audio code scheme for your BAP by selecting an option in the
Code Type
area. This
affects NAES 2 code production only. Choose from the following:
•
Final Distributor
— Select this option if the BAP is installed in the station or cable network
slot of the program-distribution chain.
•
Program Content
— Select this option if the BAP is installed in the broadcast network or
syndicate slot of the program-distribution chain
.
4. Use the
Time Zone
menu to specify the time zone that your facility is located in.
Configuring a Watermark Encoder Channel
Each row in the Watermark Table tab represents an encoder channel. You can enable up to four
encoder channels.
To configure a watermark encoder channel
1. Display the
Nielson Watermarker
interface as outlined in “
To display the BAP interfaces in
”.
2. Select the
Watermark Table
tab.
3. Locate the row for the Watermark Encoder channel you wish to configure.
4. Type your NAES SID value into the
NAES SID
cell.
5. In the
NAES Check Code
cell, enter
6. Type your CBET CSID value into the
CBET CSID
cell. Leave this field blank if you have not been
assigned a CSID by Nielsen.
7. In the
CBET Check Code
cell, enter the Critical Band Encoding Technology (CBET) Source
Identification code you obtained from Nielsen Encoder Support. The CSID is supplied with check
characters (different from the SID code) to ensure that it is entered correctly into the BAP. Note
that this field:
• is case sensitive and the check characters must be entered in upper case with no spaces
between the CSID and check code.
• can be left blank if no CBET encoding is performed for the encoder channel.
8. Specify how to resolve conflicts between data already present in the incoming signal, and data
to be added by the BAP by selecting an option in the
CBET Level Overflow
and
NAES Level
Overflow
areas. This affects NAES 2 code production only. The NAES SID and CBET CSID can be
configured independently. For each data type, choose from the following overflow methods:
•
Refrain
— Select this option to not encode the BAP data and only transmit the incoming data.
•
Overwrite
— Select this option to encode the BAP data regardless of the presence of
incoming data.
9. Select the
Enable
box for the Watermark Output channel.
The
Apply
button is now selectable.
10. Click
Apply
to save your changes.
Applying changes will create a video and audio glitch.
