Using the Default Channel Mapping
Each SDI has four output paths with the following default channel mapping:
• Output path 1 includes channels 1-6
• Output path 2 includes channels 7-8
• Output path 3 includes channels 9-14
• Output path 4 includes channels 15-16
You can choose to use the default channel mapping, or customize the map based on your facility
requirements. No further steps are required to use the default channel mapping as described
above. You can proceed to “ Real-Time Loudness Leveling ”.
Customizing the Audio Channel Mapping
This section outlines how to customize the channel mapping for an SDI output path.
To customize the channel mapping for an output path
1. Display the Channel Mapping interface for an SDI as outlined in “ To display the BAP
interfaces in DashBoard ”.
2. Locate the row for the Output Path you want to customize the channel map for.
3. Use the
Source Channel menu to assign an audio channel to a specified channel in an Output
Path.
In the example below, the user assigns SDI IN 1 > Channel 3 to SDI Output Path 1 > Channel 1.
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for each output path you wish to customize.

The new settings are applied automatically.
5. Repeat the procedure for the other SDI if required.
Mapping the Output Paths to an SDI Output
 If you have bypassed the encoder channel for an output path, the default channel mapping for
that path is automatically reset to the default values.
To map an output path to an SDI Output
1. Display the SDI IO interface as outlined in “ To display the BAP interfaces in DashBoard ”.
2. Select the SDI Output tab.
3. Select the sub-tab for the physical SDI output you want to map.
4. Locate the row for the Output Channel you want to customize.
 Mapping PCM channels will map 1 to 1, but the Dolby output will always be matched to an audio
pair (2 channels).
5. Use the Channel Source menu to assign an output path to a specified channel of the selected
SDI output.
In the example below, the user assigns Output Path 4 of SDI IN 1 to Channel 9 of SDI Output 1.
