BAP User Guide (v1.0)
Updating the Network Settings • 33
Updating the Network Settings
Once the BAP is communicating via DashBoard, it is recommended to assign a different static IP
address from the factory default values. These default values were used to initially establish a
connection point to the BAP, as outlined in your
BAP Quick Start Guide
. This chapter provides
instructions for configuring the RJ45 ports of the BAP for communication with your facility network
and streaming devices.
Contact your IT Department for more information on changing these settings.
Network Connections to the BAP
There is one Ethernet port that must be configured on the BAP:
Gb1
. This port enables the BAP to
interface with other devices in your facility, and the computer running the DashBoard client. After
the initial connection is established, DashBoard is used to update the network settings for the BAP
as determined by your IT Department and network requirements.
The
Gb2
,
NET1
, and
NET2
ports are not implemented.
Updating the Gb1 Port Settings
Once the BAP is communicating via DashBoard, you may wish to assign a different static IP Address
from the factory default value (which was used to initially establish a connection point to the BAP).
To update the Gb1 port settings for the BAP
1. Display the
Global
interface as outlined in “
To display the BAP interfaces in DashBoard
”.
2. Select the
Ethernet
tab.
3. Select the
Gb1
tab.
4. Click
Edit
.
The fields are now editable on the tab.
5. Use the
DNS
field to specify the IP address of the DNS server that the BAP will communicate
with.
6. Use the
Method
menu to specify
Manual
.
Do not set
Method
to
Unknown
. This option is not implemented for the Gb1 port.
7. Use the
Address
field to specify the new static IP Address for the
Gb1
port.
8. Use the
Subnet Mask
field to specify the subnet mask for the
Gb1
port.
9. Use the
Gateway
field to specify the gateway for communications outside of the local area
network (LAN) the BAP will use.
10. Click
Apply
.
The BAP automatically reboots and applies the changes.
