Watermark Encoders Setup
This chapter outlines the steps required to configure and enable the Watermark Encoder channels
for the BAP.
Overview
A Watermark Encoder provides transport stream processing to add Nielsen Watermarking to AES67
audio streams. DashBoard provides options for specifying the watermarking parameters, including
the Source Identification (SID) obtained from Nielsen Encoder Support.
By default, there are up to four Watermark Encoder channels that can be configured. Each channel
is configured and enabled independently.
Before proceeding, ensure that you have the following information from the Nielsen Encoder
Support:
• NAES SID
• NAES Check Code
• CBET CSID
• CBET Check Code
Changing the Watermark Encoder Channel Names
It is highly recommended to re-name each Watermark Encoder channel from the default values.
This will help to identify the channels in the other BAP tabs and interfaces.
To change the name for a watermark encoder channel
1. Display the Nielson Watermarker interface as outlined in “ To display the BAP interfaces in
DashBoard ”.
2. Select the Watermark Table tab.
3. Locate the cell in the Name column of the tab for the first Watermark Encoder channel you
want to re-name.
4. Type a new name for the Watermark Encoder channel.
5. Press
Enter .
6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 for each channel.
7. Click
Apply to save your changes.
 Changing the Watermark Encoder Channel name will create a video and audio glitch.
Configuring the Global Encoder Settings
There are two settings that impact all Watermark Encoder channels on the BAP: Code Type and
Time Zone. These settings are located on the Device Setup tab in the Nielsen Watermark Encoder
interface.
To configure the global settings for all watermark encoders
1. Display the Nielson Watermarker interface as outlined in “ To display the BAP interfaces in
DashBoard ”.
2. Select the Device Setup tab.
