Troubleshooting Checklist
Routine maintenance to this openGear product is not required. In the event of problems with your MC1-PANEL-16,
the following basic troubleshooting checklist may help identify the source of the problem. If the frame still does not
appear to be working properly after checking all possible causes, please contact your openGear products distributor,
or the Technical Support department at the numbers listed under the “
Contact Us
” section.

Visual
Review
— Performing a quick visual check may reveal many problems, such as connectors not
properly seated or loose cables. Check the MC1-PANEL-16, the openGear frame, and any associated
peripheral equipment for signs of trouble.
2.
Power Check —
Verify that the power cable is connected to a power source and that power is available at the
power main.
3.
Input Signal Status
— Verify that source equipment is operating correctly and that a valid signal is being
supplied.
4.
Output Signal Path
— Verify that destination equipment is operating correctly and receiving a valid signal.
5.
Unit Exchange
— Exchanging a suspect unit with a unit that is known to be working correctly is an efficient
method for localizing problems to individual units.
Software Upgrades
If you encounter problems when upgrading your software, verify the following:
• Your network settings on the MC1-PANEL-16 are valid.
• Ethernet communication is properly configured.
• The file you are attempting to load is a
*.bin
file that is for the MC1-PANEL-16 you are upgrading.
Warranty and Repair Policy
Ross Video Limited (Ross) warrants its switchers and related options, to be free from defects under normal use and
service for a period of ONE YEAR from the date of shipment. Fader handle assemblies are warranted for the life of
the product. If an item becomes defective within the warranty period Ross will repair or replace the defective item,
as determined solely by Ross.
Warranty repairs will be conducted at Ross, with all shipping FOB Ross dock. If repairs are conducted at the
customer site, reasonable out-of-pocket charges will apply. At the discretion of Ross, and on a temporary loan basis,
plug in circuit boards or other replacement parts may be supplied free of charge while defective items undergo
repair. Return packing, shipping, and special handling costs are the responsibility of the customer.
Software upgrades for switchers may occur from time to time, and are determined by Ross Video. The upgrades are
posted on the Ross Video website, and are free of charge for the life of the MC1-PANEL-16.
This warranty is void if products are subjected to misuse, neglect, accident, improper installation or application, or
unauthorized modification.
In no event shall Ross Video Limited be liable for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages
(including loss of profit). Implied warranties, including that of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose,
are expressly limited to the duration of this warranty.
This warranty is TRANSFERABLE to subsequent owners, subject to Ross' notification of change of ownership.
