P-V Task Mode Procedure
1. Ensure that the validator is turned off.
2. Open the release valve on the validator.
3. Connect the transmitter to the reference pressure port on the
validator using a 1 /
8
–27 NPT coupling device and a pneumatic
hose.
4. Set the pressure/vacuum knob to + or – as required.
5. Connect the test leads to the validator and the transmitter being
tested, as shown in Figure 5-3 or Figure 5-4 above.
6. Turn on the validator and allow it to go through its self-test
process (about 15 seconds).
7. Press the
TASK
key, then use
¶
and
Ä
to highlight
P-V
mode (if the
validator is not in P-V mode already). Press
ENTER
.
8. Press the
OUTPUT
key, if necessary, to change the units of pressure
and to turn the 24 V power on or off.
9. Press the
ZERO
key, then
F1
and
F2
to zero the input and output
displays.
10. Close the release valve.
11. Use the pressure pump to pressurize the system until it is within
the desired range.
12. Use the fine pressure adjuster to bring the pressure to the exact
pressure.
13. Open the release valve to release system pressure before
disconnecting.
