5 Validator Procedures
OVERVIEW This section provides procedures for the task modes listed in the
TASK
key menu. The procedures are not listed in the order they appear on the
validator menu; they are grouped by function.
• The Pressure-to-Electrical Validations section describes
procedures in which the validator outputs a pressure and reads
an input in an electrical unit. These types of validation are the
most common.
• The Non-Electrical Pressure Validations section describes
pressure procedures that do not require electrical connections.
• The Special Procedures section describes three unique testing
modes: Current-to-Pressure, Transmitter Simulator, and mA
Output. mA Output is set up in the Advanced task mode.
NOTE
For information on the hardware functions, the pressure generation
procedure, parameter setup, electrical connections, and safety
precautions, see Sections 2, 3, 4, and 5. For information on using
Advanced task mode, see Section 7 Using the Hydraulic Validator.

Validator housing could explode causing death or serious injury.
• This Validator is not to be connected to a process.
• External pressure source’s pressures should not exceed the Validator’s Burst
Pressure.
