Troubleshooting

No sound!

Check the following points.
- Connections between the external amp 
  and the UA-100
- Connections between the external amp 
  and external speakers
- Power switch of the external amp (speaker)
- Volume of the external amp (speaker)

Problems with the external 
playback system

Do the output level 

indicators of the UA-100 light 

during playback?

Is the UA-100 driver

 installed?

Yes (= the signal is reaching the UA-100)

No (= the signal is not reaching 
the UA-100)

- Has the line output volume of the 
  UA-100 been turned to the minimum 
  position?

Has the 1:Roland UA-100 Wave 1 been specified 
as the audio output (playback) device?
Refer to “UA-100 Driver Settings” (p. 23)

No

Check the volume

Check the audio output destination

- Try setting the UA-100’s Effect Type Selector 
  to the BYPASS position. (refer to p. 12)

Install the UA-100 driver. 

Refer to “Getting Ready to Use the 

UA-100” (p. 15). Then return to the 

beginning and check each point.

- Has the volume of the Media Player been 
  lowered?
Use the Windows volume control to adjust 
the volume.

- Are there any problems with your external 
  amp or external speakers?
(Contact the manufacturer of the external 
 amp or external speaker.)

Check connections 

- Is the power supply plug of the UA-100 connected 
  correctly to an AC outlet?
- Is the power of the UA-100 turned on?
- Are the headphones connected correctly?
- Are the line output jacks of the UA-100 connected 
  correctly?
- Are the UA-100 and the computer connected 
  correctly? Refer to “Making the Connections” (p. 18).
