Connecting the service computer
The service computer may be any computer that meets the system requirements.
The system requirements for the service computer are described in the related product
documents, refer to Table 5.9.
Service computers not included in the scope of delivery
Service computers are not included in the scope of delivery of the product/system.
The service computer can be connected as follows:

Connecting the service computer (serially)
The Service and Maintenance Tool (SMT) is required to connect the service computer
to a base station via a serial connection , since the SMT establishes the connection
between the base station and the service computer.
The following connections must be established for a serial connection of the service
computer:

Connection of the Service and Maintenance Tool (SMT) to the network/hardware
components of base stations

Connection of the SMT to the service computer.

The procedure for connecting the SMT is described in the following.
Proceed as follows to connect the SMT
Preparation:

You need the tools and aids specified in section 5.7.1 on page 103.
Carry out the following steps:
1. Connect the black adapter cable of the SMT to the PPC port of the SMT.
