FAULT CAUSE SOLUTION
The storage cylinder goes cold overnight.
The collector pump runs at night. − Check the associated settings.
Collector temperature is higher than out-
door temperature at night.
− Check the functioning of the non-re-
turn valves.
Insufficient, loose or broken storage cyl-
inder insulation.
− Change or improve the insulation.
Uninsulated storage cylinder pipes. − Insulate the storage cylinder’s pipes.
At night, when the system is off, natural
circulation occurs from the storage cyl-
inder to the system.
Temperature differential between storage
cylinder and system.
− Create a siphon in the highest pipe.
Non-return valves faulty. − Replace the faulty components.
The pump runs for a long time at night
when the system is activated.
Activation temperature differential

too high.
− Change Δ Ton and Δ Toff.
The heating circuit does not exchange
heat.
− Verify the functioning and dimensions
of the heating circuit.
The solar circuit pump does not func-
tion correctly even when the collector is
much hotter than the storage cylinder.
The pump is seized.
− Use a screwdriver to check that the
pump rotates.
− Replace the pump.
Electrical power supply faulty.
− Check the electrical power supply.
− Check / replace the fuses.
The controller is faulty. − Replace the controller.
