First commissioning
When the boiler is first started the siphon for collecting the con
-
densate is empty.
It is therefore indispensable to create a head of water filling the
siphon before starting up, following these instructions:
- remove the siphon by releasing it from the plastic pipe con-
necting to the combustion chamber
-
fill the siphon about 3/4” full with water, making sure it is free
of any impurities
-
check the float of the plastic cylinder
- put back the siphon, being careful not to empty it, and secure
it with the clip.
The plastic cylinder inside the siphon has the job of preventing com-
bustible gas coming out into the surroundings if the appliance is start-
ed without first creating the head of water in the siphon
.
Repeat this operation during routine and extraordinary maintenance
operations.
- Position the mode selector (1 - fig. C) to
(off/reset)
fig. C
1
- Position the system's master switch to the "on" position.
- Adjust the ambient temperature thermostat to the desired temper-
ature (~20°C) or, if the system is equipped with a programmable
thermostat or timer, ensure that the thermostat or timer is "active"
and set correctly (~20°C).
- Position the mode selector (1 - fig. C) to
(summer) or
(win-
ter) depending on the type of operation chosen.
- Every time the boiler is powered, an automatic bleed cycle begins
(lasting about 2 minutes).
- The two digits on the display light up alternately during this phase
(fig. D).

- To interrupt the automatic venting cycle, unscrew the 4 Allen
screws (A), remove the control panel (B) and press the combus-
tion analysis button "CO" (C) (fig. E).

SUMMER
: (with external storage cylinder connected) with the
selector in this position just the standard domestic hot water mode
is activated. The display alternately shows the domestic hot water
temperature (fig. F).
WINTER
: with selector in this position, both the heating and do-
mestic hot water functions are activated. The display shows the de-
livery temperature of the heating water (fig. G) or the domestic hot
water (fig. F), according to the current request.

fig. G
When the operation is finished set the mode selector to the required
position (summer, winter or off).
Adjusting the heating water temperature (fig. H)
fig. H
To adjust the temperature of the heating water, turn the knob with the
symbol
: turn clockwise to increase the temperature, or anticlock-
wise to reduce it.
When turning the knob the display starts blinking, displaying the tem-
perature variation.
Depending on the type of system, the most suitable tempera-
ture range can be pre-selected:
- standard systems 40-80 °C
- floor installations 20-45°C.
For details see paragraph “Boiler configuration”.
Adjusting the heating water temperature with an external probe
connected
When an external probe is installed, the delivery temperature is au-
tomatically selected by the system, which quickly adjusts the ambi-
ent temperature according to variations in the outside temperature.
If you want to alter the temperature value (increasing or reducing
the value automatically calculated by the electronic card), use the
heating water temperature selector: turn it clockwise to increase the
temperature, or anticlockwise to reduce it. The correction possibility
is between -5 and +5 levels of comfort, shown on the digital display
by rotating the knob.
Adjustment of the domestic hot water temperature (fig. I)
fig. I
MODE A (heating only) - adjustment not applicable
MODE B heating only + external storage tank with thermostat - ad-
justment does not apply.
MODE C only h external storage tank with probe - to adjust
the temperature of the domestic water held in the storage tank, turn
the temperature selector: Turn clockwise to increase the tempera-
ture, or anticlockwise to reduce it.
The adjustment field is between 35 and 60 °C.
When selecting the temperature, for heating or hot water, the display
shows the value being selected.
About 4 seconds after selection, the modification is stored and the
display resumes the delivery temperature.
