TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTRE
4.1
Preparing for initial startup
It is essential to perform the following checks before starting up
or testing the functioning of the storage cylinder. In particular,
check that:
− The supply cocks in the domestic water circuit are all open
The electrical and hydraulic connections to the paired storage
cylinder have been carried out correctly.
4.2
Putting into service
The first start up of the
BOLLITORE 120 Lt
R
appliance should
be carried out by the Technical Assistance Service
R
after
which the appliance will be able to operate automatically.
However, the user may need to automatically restart the
BOL-
LITORE 120 Lt
without involving the Technical Assistance Service;
for example after a long period of absence.
Before doing so, perform the following checks and operations:
− make sure that the fuel and water taps of the heating
system (not supplied) are open.
− make sure that the boiler connected to the storage cylin-
der is in service referring to the section "Commissioning
and maintenance" of the boiler's instructions
− start the domestic hot water function on the boiler (see
the specific chapter in the boiler's instruction booklet).
9
The storage cylinder depends on the heat generator to
which it is connected in order to operate.
4.3
Checks during and after initial start-up
Once it has been started, make sure there are no water leaks
from the storage cylinder or from the pipes connecting to the
boiler. After making sure there are no leaks or malfunctions,
check the performance (charging time, temperature and
amount of water that can be taken).
4.4
Preparing for extended periods of disuse
If the storage cylinder is not going to be used for an extended
period of time, perform the following operations:
− deactivate the domestic hot water function on the boi-
ler combined with the storage cylinder (see the specific
chapter in the boiler's instruction booklet);
− close the water taps of the water system.
9
Empty the domestic hot water circuit and the heat exchan-
ger if there is a risk of frost (see section "Emptying")
4.5
Maintenance
Scheduled maintenance is essential for the safety, efficiency
and long working life of your storage cylinder. Proper mainte-
nance also reduces energy consumption and ensures reliability
over time. Have your storage cylinder serviced either by the ma-
nufacturer’s Technical Assistance Service or by a qualified hea-
ting engineer at least once a year.
Perform the following operations before beginning any main-
tenance:
− Switch the electricity supply to the storage cylinder’s
valve group and to any associated boiler OFF at the main
switch and at the control panel
− Close the shut-off cocks for the domestic hot water circuit
− Drain the storage cylinder’s DHW (secondary) water cir-
cuit.
