10. Turn the machine’s power off/on.
11. Print a Configuration Page to make sure that the machine recognizes the installed
board for USB2.0:
User Tools > Printer Features > List/Test Print > Configuration Page

Before You Begin…
1. Make sure that the Data Overwrite Security unit SD card is the correct type for the
machine. The correct type for this machine is type “D.”
! Do this now. If you install any version other than type “D”, you will have to
replace the NVRAM and do this installation procedure again.
2. Make sure that the following items are not at the factory default settings:
! Supervisor login password
! Administrator login name
!
Administrator login password
! These settings must be set up by the customer before the Data Overwrite
Security unit can be installed.
3. Make sure that “Admin. Authentication” is on:
[User Tools]> “System Settings”> “Administrator Tools”> “Administrator Authentication
Management”> “Admin. Authentication”> “On”
If this setting is “Off”, tell the customer that this setting must be “On” before you can do
the installation procedure.
4. Make sure that “Administrator Tools” is selected and enabled:
[User Tools] > “System Settings” > “Administrator Tools”> “Administrator Authentication
Management”> “Available Settings
