Operation
The Compare volumes screen (Figure 23) has three views of the build.
•
The top left displays the reference view. This is 2D data for a single layer of the reference volume.
•
The bottom left displays the compared view. This is 2D data for a single layer of the compared
volume.
•
The right side displays the comparison view. This uses a colour scale to display the differences
between pixel values in the Reference and Compared layers. The data in the comparison view is
calculated by subtracting the pixel values in the compared layer from those in the reference layer.
This means that pixels shaded towards red have a lower intensity in the compared layer than in
the reference layer, and the pixels shaded towards blue have a higher intensity in the compared
layer than in the reference layer.
Note: To change the volumes being compared, use the dropdown menus above the Reference and
Compared layer views (Figure 23). The available volumes are listed using their aliases if these were
provided, otherwise file paths are used.
