12. Fine Tuning of the Helicopter
If the nod or roll trim must be adjusted a lot fort he helicopter to
hover stably, you can also mechanically adjust the swash plate
linkage.
For this, lift the canopy from the two retaining pins (1) on the right
and left.
Now take the transmitter and then the model into operation. When
the internal reconciliation is completed, the two servos (2) for the
nod and roll control will run into their centre positions (neutral
position). In this position, the servo levers (3) must be aligned
perfectly horizontally. The trimming displays for the nod and roll
functions at the transmitter must be in their central positions.
If required, remove the fastening screw (4) of the servo lever, pull
the lever off the rotational axis and screw it back on in the proper
position. The teeth on the servo axis make it easy to adjust the
servo lever „tooth by tooth“.
If the swash plate is slightly askew even though the servo levers
are horizontal, so that the helicopter keeps flying in one direction,
disconnect the ball sockets (5) of the linkage rods from the swash
plate and twist them to set the required rod length.
Unhooking and hooking in the ball sockets is easiest when using
small pincers.
Attention!
Always disconnect the flight battery from the model before carrying out any maintenance or adjustment
works at the mechanics.
Set the linkage rods so that the model helicopter hovers stably without any large adjustments of the nod and roll trim
out of the centre position being required.
