9. Putting the Model into Operation
a) Inserting and Connecting the Rechargeable Batteries
Once the canopy is removed, the rechargeable flight battery is inserted into
the front of the fuselage and secured in place with Velcro.
The exact position of the rechargeable battery is determined by the centre of
gravity.
b) Adjusting the Centre of Gravity
The flight battery must be installed in the battery compartment in such a manner
that the centre of gravity is approximately 70-75 mm behind the leading edge
of the wing (measured from the centre of the wing).
For 3-D flying, you can move back the centre of gravity later on in small steps
until you achieve the best flight behaviour.
c) Putting the Flight Controller into Operation
First, start the remote control transmitter and push the control stick for the motor function into the bottom position „motor off“.
With the correct setting of the transmitter, you will hear three fast sound sequences followed by three individual sounds. Then the propeller will start briefly so you
can check the correct rotation direction. If necessary, exchange two of the three motor connectors to change to motor’s rotation direction.
Note:
If you only hear four individual tones at different pitches after connecting the battery, reverse the direction of the joystick for the motor function on
the transmitter using the reverse function.
Important!
The integrated BEC power supply provides the required operating voltage for the servos and the receiver. When connecting up to 4 servos, the
input voltage may not exceed max. 12 V (10 NiCd/NiMH cells or 3 LiPo cells).
