r) Mounting the Engine Hood
Before you can mount the engine hood, you need to cleanly cut the hood out
(using scissors) on the rear marking. Then remove the ABS material in the
ventilation openings. This is best done using a mini drill and a mortise.
Important!
Carry out the work carefully, as the appearance of the engine
hood is a key element of the appearance of your „EXTRA 300“!
Then glue the four approximately 8 x 8 mm plastic plates (1) into the cavities
on the motor frame.
Mark the middle of the plates on the engine hood and drill the screw holes in
the hood with a 1.5 mm drill.
Then place the hood in place and use the spinner plate to exactly position the
hood.
Then mark the screw holes in the hood onto the plastic plates and drill the
screw holes with a 1 mm drill.
Note:
When inserting the screws (2) ensure that you don’t use too
much force as you may thread the holes and make the screws
loose.
