Copy Mode
There are two methods of copying a tape from Deck1 to
Deck2; HQ1 (High Quality 1) and HQ2 (High Quality 2). HQ1
is best when copying a tape that was recorded in SP speed.
HQ2 is best for copying tapes recorded in SLP or LP speeds.
To Set the Copy Mode:
1. Press MENU to display the VCR’s MAIN MENU.
2. Press 4 to display the SETUP menu.
3. Press 2 to display the COPY AND RECORD SETTINGS
menu.

4. Press 1 repeatedly to toggle through available choices:
• Auto Automatically sets the copy mode.
• HQ1 High Quality 1. The best choice for copying
tapes recorded in SP speed.
• HQ2 High Quality 2. The best choice for copying
tapes recorded in SLP or LP speeds.
Speed Matching
When speed matching is activated, Deck2 automatically
records at the same speed that the tape in Deck1 was
recorded. Typically, you will get the best results in copying
tapes with this feature turned on. However, this feature
must be disabled if copying multiple tapes onto a single
cassette.
To Turn Speed Matching On or Off:
1. Press the MENU button to display the VCR’s Main Menu.
2. Press 4 to display the SETUP menu.
3. Press 2 to display the COPY AND RECORD SETTINGS
menu.
4. Press 2 repeatedly to turn speed matching on and off.
• Turn ON if copying a single tape.
• Turn OFF if copying more than one tape onto a
single tape.
