Only remove blockages in the spreader hopper with the machine at a stand-
still, and never use your hands or feet. Only use a suitable tool. To prevent
blockages, always use the safety guard when filling the hopper.
Before cleaning the spreader with water, steam or other cleaning agents, cov-
er all components that must not get wet (e.g. bearings, electrical connec-
tions).
Regularly check nuts and screws for tight fit and tighten them, if necessary.
3.8
Safety in traffic
When travelling on public roads and tracks, the tractor with the attached single-
disc spreader must comply with the traffic regulations of the country in which it is
operating. The owner and driver are responsible for compliance with these regu-
lations.
3.8.1
Checks before driving
The pre-operational check is an important component of traffic safety. Before
every trip, check compliance with the operating conditions, traffic safety, and the
regulations of the country of operation.
Make sure that the permitted total weight is not exceeded. Note the permitted
axle load, permitted braking load, and the permitted tyre load.
Check the tyre pressures and the function of the tractor brake system.
Is the single-disc spreader mounted correctly?
Could spreading material be lost while travelling?
-
Check the level of the spreading material in the hopper. The metering slid-
er must be closed.
-
In addition, with single-acting hydraulic cylinders, shut the ball-cock to
prevent spreading material from flowing out of the hopper in the event of
leaks in the tractor's control valves.
-
If necessary, switch off the electronic control unit.
Does the lighting and identification of the spreader comply with the national
regulations for use on public roads? Make sure that warning signs, reflectors,
and auxiliary lights are correctly placed.
