Spreading work
8.1
General Information
The modern technology and design of our single-disc spreaders, and exhaustive,
continuous testing in our own spreading material test facilities ensure that you will
have a perfect spreading pattern.
Our machines are manufactured with great care. However, even if the equipment
is used exactly as intended, variations in the spreading results and other faults
cannot be completely excluded.
The reasons for this may be:
Changes in the physical properties of the spreading material due to rotating
agitators during transport (e.g. variable grain size distribution, variable densi-
ty, grain size and surface, moisture).
Clumping, and moist spreading material.
Wind drift: If the wind speed is too high, stop the spreading operation.
Bridging and clogging can occur, e.g. due to foreign bodies, bag residue or
moist spreading material ...
Uneven ground.
Abrasion of wearing parts, e.g. agitators, spreading vanes, and outlets.
Damage from external causes.
Inadequate cleaning and care to prevent corrosion.
Incorrect drive speeds and ground speeds.
Calibration test not carried out or carried out with incorrect values (e.g. wrong
PTO speed).
Incorrect machine adjustments.
Pay close attention to the machine adjustments. Even a slight adjustment inac-
curacy can significantly influence the spreading pattern. Therefore, before every
use of the spreader and during work check that your machine operates properly
and that the application is sufficiently precise. Run a calibration test.
NOTICE
Cleaning the machine after each use prevents deposits forming on the floor of
the hopper. This reduces the wear on the agitator mechanism and increases the
operational reliability of your spreader.
