Crankshaft
Crankshaft is not an item that is addressed in the field. Raider Outboard should be sent back to
depot or manufacturer for inspection. Critical concern would be starting the engine with the electric
start prior to dispelling water between piston and heads. It is critical that the dewatering valves are
opened after submersion and pull start is firmly and slowly pulled at a minimum of eight times prior
to using electric starter. Starting engine after submersion without proper dewatering when using
Electric start could damage crankshaft.
