Description
Power supply
VIBSCANNER is powered by a rechargeable NiMH battery,
which is installed in the handle of the device. The battery is
charged by the VIBSCANNER Charger (VIB 5.420). During
the charging process, VIBSCANNER is switched off and the
battery remains inside the instrument. Reserve batteries
can also be charged outside the instrument.
What happens ...
... if VIBSCANNER is switched on and the battery
charger is connected?
> The charging process is interrupted and...
- VIBSCANNER is supplied with mains power.
- VIBSCANNER EX is supplied with battery power.
... if measurements are perfomed during charging?
> This can result in measurement errors.
... if the battery is removed longer than 10 minutes?
> VIBSCANNER loses the time and date setting.
What to do ...
... if VIBSCANNER is not in use for a prolonged period
(> 3-4 weeks)?
> Remove the battery and leave it connected to the
charger (does not apply to VIBSCANNER EX).
Charging the battery
Rechargeable batteries must not be charged in hazard-
ous areas!
• Open the protective cap on the battery.
• Connect the battery charger to the battery and to the
power supply.
Before charging, the battery should be discharged as much
as possible. The maximum charging time is approx. 6 hours
(approx. 10 hours for intr. safe battery).
