Troubleshooting

• Symptom:
After the power has been switched on, the blue LED flashes
slowly.

Meaning:
The device is in boot mode. This can have two reasons:
1. Boot mode was manually entered by the user
2. The application firmware is missing or corrupted.

What to do:
If the charger is connected to the device, disconnect it.
Reset the device (page 75).
If the device still goes into boot mode, update the firmware
using the VIBSCANNER update tool.

• Symptom:
When switching on the device, the red LED flashes quickly.

Meaning:
The battery is empty.

What to do:
Charge the battery using the charger VIB 5.420.

• Symptom:
When switching on the device the backlight of the displays
lights up but nothing appears on the display.

Meaning:
The firmware is not running properly.

What to do:
Reset the device (page 75).
If this doesn’t work, update the firmware using the VIB-
SCANNER update tool.

• Symptom:
Charging process does not start, red LED on the storage
battery flashes continuously (>20min).

Meaning:
Error condition identified during the charging process, or
battery defective.

What to do:
Ambient temperature 10–40°C? Discharge the battery
again. Charge the battery separately. If charging is still not
possible, return the battery for repair.
