d. To display the current firmware version:

• Switch the instrument off.
• Push the joystick up towards the display and keep it

pressed. The VIBSCANNER info window appears:

SERNO: Serial number of the instrument
MAIN: Firmware version

(build number*)

BOOT: Boot program version (build number*)

e. To carry out permanent measurements

If you hold down the joystick after starting the measure-
ment, VIBSCANNER measures permanently without car-
rying out any averaging. Only when you release the
joystick the actual measurement begins with the select-
ed averaging number.
Application example: Initially, heavily fluctuating values
are measured on a machine that stabilize after a certain
amount of time. This measurement function lets you
trace the incoming values on the screen and to start
recording the data only when the values have stabilized.

f. Signal check (2-channel measurement)

To check the signal before a measurement with the
automatic switchbox (VIB 5.446) on each channel (A/
B), proceed as follows:

• Activate the ‘Display channel A/B’ display option in

the device setup (see page 19).

• Change to the Setup menu (see page 17).
• Click on ‘A<>B’ in the menu, and select the channel.
• Start the measurement. The signal is only output on

the selected channel.
