Error identification
Xtratus has a LED and a buzzer, and two relays, which can signal the
machine's operating status on to the control center.
The LED has three levels:
Green: Flashes during heating, 1 flash/sec.
Constant light when Xtratus is Ready.
Turns off at error.
Yellow: Flashes at E2 error (no fluid), beeper sounds and fault relay
active (1 flash/sec.).
Flashes for 24 hours after successful fog release, 1 flash/
sec. (no beeper active).
(Can be erased by pushing Reset button).
Red: Constant light at critical errors: E5, E6, E7, E8.
Flashes at less critical errors: E1, E3, E4 (1 flash/sec.).
Xtratus can signal 8 different errors:
E1: Mains supply error
E2: No fluid error
E3: Battery voltage low
E4: PCB board temperature high/low error
E5: Thermal sensor error
E6: Heat rod error
E7: Over temperature on heater error
E8: Motor error
At yellow and red light also the buzzer is activated. Buzzer beeps with
0,3Hz for 2 minutes. After that the buzzer gives a single beep every
half minute.
The buzzer can be deactivated by setting DIP switch 5 in the OFF
position.
Which error is announced?
To find out which error is announced on the Xtratus, you simply press
and release the Reset button shortly. Immediately after, the Xtratus
will tell you which error is present - simply by counting the present
error. This is done by use of the red light and the buzzer that will flash
and beep the error number.
One example: E5 error is present on the Xtratus. You press and release
the Reset button and the constant red light will turn off. Then the red
light slowly will flash 5 times and the buzzer will sound accordingly.
Right after the red constant light comes back.
So you simply count the number of flashes and beeps, and this will
correspond to the present error number.
This procedure can be repeated until you reset the error.
Identifying and rectify critical and less critical errors
Fog fluid:
Xtratus does not measure the fog fluid level in the can. Xtratus is de-
signed to fire one full shot when it is activated. After that it is recom-
mended to replace the fluid can.
The fluid can has enough fluid for 1 full shots plus fluid for a backup
fog shot, almost as powerful as the first shot.
As an user of Xtratus you are therefore aware that the unit has a
backup fog shot.
Example: Xtratus is activated on a Friday night where it is difficult and
expensive to get a technician to replace the fluid can. But you know
that the premises are secured over the weekend, because there is
enough fog fluid for one more fog activation.
The general recommendation is to change the fluid container each
time Xtratus has been activated.
The PCB detects the liquid running through the heat exchanger in the
fog cannon. Activating the Xtratus with either too little or no fog fluid,
the PCB will detect error E2: "No fluid error". This error is shown with
the yellow LED and buzzer. And the relay "Output 2" is activated.
Error E2, "No fluid error", is to be reset by pressing the reset button

critici E1, E3, E4.
NOTA: Dopo una veloce pressione del tasto Reset
il led rosso emetterà un serie di lampeggi ed il
Buzzer di suoni ad indicare il tipo di errore.

la Xtratus está preparada.
Se apaga si se produce un error.
Parpadea con un E2 (sin fluido), el zumbador
suena y el relé de fallo se activa (1flash/sec.)
Parpadea durante 24 horas después del disparo
de niebla. 1 flash/seg. (el zumbador no
está activado). (Puede ser borrado pulsando
el botón reset).
Luce constantemente con errores críticos:
E5, E6, E7, E8.
1 parpadero por seg. para errores leves:
E1, E3, E4.
