- 3 - FUNCTIONS AND SETTINGS
3.1 Operation
Connect the supplied main cable to a socket (230 V~/50 Hz). Then the unit is ready for operation and can be
operated via a DMX controller or it independently performs its show program in succession. To switch off,
disconnect the mains plug from the socket. For a more convenient operation it is recommended to connect
the unit to a socket which can be switched on and off via a light switch.
3.2 Operation in automatic mode or controlled by the music
If no DMX control signal is present at the jack DMX INPUT (4), and the unit independently runs through its
show programme. Via its integrated microphone (7), the unit can be controlled by music with a clear rhythm
in the bass range.
When operating a single MULTIFLOWER102, set the unit to the master mode:
• Set DIP switch No. 1 to ON; set all other DIP switches to the upper position “OFF”.
• Adjust the volume of the music system in such a way that the dynamic efficiency of the music is opti-
mally reproduced by the flashes.
The LED will flicker when the unit is controlled by a music signal.
3.3 Master/Slave mode
This mode will allow you to link up the units together without a controller. It is possible to interconnect up
to four MULTIFLOWER102 units in a chain in order to control all slave units via the microphone of the master
unit.
• Use standard DMX cables to daisy chain your units together via the DMX connector on the rear of the
units. For longer cable runs we suggest a terminator at the last fixture (see page 10).
• Connect the DMX OUT (3) of the master unit to the DMX IN of the first slave unit.
• Connect the DMX OUT of the first slave unit to the DMX IN of the second slave unit, etc. until all units are
connected in a chain.
• On the slave units, set all DIP switches Nos. 1 – 9 (fig.4) to the upper position (OFF). Once the slave units
receive the control signals of the master unit, the indicating LED (10) of the slave units will shortly light
up every 2 seconds.
• For rotating the light patterns at a constant speed, also set DIP switch No. 2 to ON. Now it will be pos-
sible to adjust the speed with the DIP switches Nos. 4, 5, 6. The sense of rotation will change occasion-
ally and may additionally be changed with switch No. 3. The music control via the microphone will be
deactivated.
• DIP switch No. 10 (OPTION) will define the behaviour of the slave units: opposite to the master unit
(switch set to ON) or identical to it (switch set to the upper position).
3.4 Operation via a light control unit
For operation via a light controller with DMX512 protocol, the unti is equipped with 3 DMX channels. For
connection, the MULTIFLOWER102 is equipped with 3-pole XLR connections (1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 =
DMX+). According to the jack available on the unit to be connected, either use the 3-pole connection.
