5.5.2 Requirements / proceeding with the SyCon System Configurator 

 
The  DP  slave  must  support  the  DP 

service  “Set_Slave_Adr”  (SAP55)  and  must  be 

connected  with  a  DPM2  master,  e.g.  PC  with  Hilscher  Master  Card 

“CIF50  PB”.  So 

that  a  MS2  connection  can  be  established  by  the  DPM2  master,  a  PROFIBUS-DP 
system configuration must have been created! For this the GSD file associated to the 
measuring system is required, see starting from page 90.

Generally it is recommended to operate only one DP slave at the bus, to set the baud 
rate to ≤ 187.5 kbit/s and to use short connecting cables to the DP slave. 
 
During  address  assignment  the DP s

lave must be in the condition “WAIT Parameter 

(WPRM)”, which is present automatically after POWER ON/RESET. In this condition 
no cyclic data between master and slave are exchanged! 
For  this,  the  following  master  settings  must  be  performed  in  the  SyCon  System 
Configurator: 

 

Start  SyCon  System  Configurator,  mark  the  master  symbol  and  select  menu 

Settings --> Master Settings…
