USING THE MICROPHONE STATIONS
The microphone call stations are the appendix and external devices of the Proevac system.
Through the microphone stations is possible to control the recorded message players, both alarm or generic, and speak live messages,
over the selected zones.
Depending on the model, the user can access advanced and flexible features, typical of a public address system.
All units carry onboard indicators that report the status of the system.
All features, assignments and access to the zones are defined during the configuration of the system with the BEST software.
This section discusses the common features to all models and their specific functions.
8.1 Common features to all models
System LED
The system led pointed by the red arrows gives information about the system staus:
GREEN
: the call station is correctly configured and operational; the system is IDLE or
BUSY state, no voice alarm is active
RED:
the system is in a voice alarm condition
ORANGE:
the system has detected a fault
Led OFF:
the call station is unpowered or not configured
The indication of a voice alarm condition has a higher priority that a fault condition: ilf the
system is in both a voice alarm condition and has detected a fault, the led will be RED.
Busy LED
The BUSY led pointed by the red arrow, indicates if the selected feature or audio content
is ready to broadcasted over the selected zone.
GREEN:
it is possible to broadcast the audio content by pressing the TALK button
RED:
The call station is already broadcasting and audio content, recorded or live.
ORANGE
: it is not possible to broadcast the selection since another audio content with
higher priority is being broadcasted.
Led OFF:
no selection
If the audio content is being broadcasted (BUSY led is RED) and is stopped to play a higher
priority message from another unit, the BUSY led will turn to orange.
TALK key
The TALK key, pointed by the green arrow, confirms and executes the selection. If no
selection is made, pressing it will do no operation.
The TALK key operates in two different ways according to the configuration given through
the BEST software:
PUSH-TO-TALK
: the selection is a live spoken message through the unit’s microphone.
The microphone will be activated over the selected zone and the message will be
broadcasted as long as the TALK key is kept pressed. As the button is released, the
audio channel will be closed.
ON-OFF
: the selected audio content is a recorded message. The player is started as
the TALK button is pressed and released. To stop the message, press and release the
TALK button once more.
