FW-100TX
The driver diskette contains a diagnostics program that provide the
following functions:
■
Diagnoses problems related to basic functions of the FW-
100TX.
■
Tests communications with another adapter via a network
.
Caution:
The Diagnostics Utility does not run properly at the (internal) DOS prompt
under Windows95/98 or Windows NT. To run the diagnostic program under
Windows95/98, PRESS [F8] WHILE THE OS (Windows95/98) IS
STARTING and select "COMMAND PROMPT ONLY". If you are using
WindowsNT, PREPARE A SEPARATE DOS SYSTEM DISK.
To run the utility, set the driver diskette to your floppy drive and run the
following command at DOS prompt:
C:\>a [Press Enter] (If Drive A is your floppy drive)
A:\
A:\chev us [Press Enter] (this step is not necessary for an English PC)
A:\setup.exe

Running the Diagnostic Utility

Installing the FW-100TX on a PC preinstalled with
TurboLinux4.0
1. Install the FW-100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter to your PC, and start
TurboLinux4.0.
2 . U s e v i ( o r a n o t h e r e d i t o r ) t o a d d t h e f o l l o w i n g s t a t e m e n t t o
/etc/conf.modules.
Alias eth0 rtl8139
3. Restart TurblLinux4.0.
4. Use turbonetcfg to set parameters for your PC.
5. Restart the system. After rebooting, its network functions are enabled.
