For the Vespa G. S./VSB 1, the ratchet gear ring of
the kickstart unit should be applied to the crankcase
half flywheel side insomuch as if it were mounted
on the cluster gear shank before mating the crank­
case halves, it would create inferference.
For mating the crankcase halves proceed as fol lows :
a) - Carefully clean the mating surfaces; spread
seal paste ( on both surfaces) of the gasket
and fit it on the crankcase half flyheel side.
b) - On vehicles equiped with the starter unit in
correspondence to the intermediate gear, check
that the rubber buffers which determine the
kickstart segment end of run are not damaged
( if necessary substitute) and ensure that they
do not project beyond the mating planes of
the crankcase halves.
c) - Mount the pilot sleeve ( for protecting the oil
seal flywheel side) and the prescribed wedge;
for easing the insertion of the crankshaft unit
into the crankcase half clutch side, the fitting
operation of the crankcase halves should be
carried out when the crankcase half flywheel
side is still warn: ( about 80
°
C).
Para la Vespa G. S./VSB 1, el engranaje con dientes
frontales de la puesta en marcha debe aplicarse en
el semicarter lado volante, pues si antes del aco­
plamiento de los semicarters se montase en el collar
del engranaje multiple impedirfa el acoplamiento por
interferencia.
Para acoplar los semicarters, actuar de la siguiente
manera:
a) - Limpiar cuidadosamente la superficie de aco­
plamiento; aplicar mastic ( en ambos lados)
de la guarnicion a interponer y montarla en
el semicarter lado volante.
b) - En las Vespas provistas de dispositivo de pue­
sta en marcha en correspondencia con el en­
granaje de la puesta en marcha, controlar que
los tacos de goma de final de recorrido del
sector dentado, no esten averiados ( even­
tualmente sustituirlos) y cuidar que no sobre­
salgan del piano de acoplamiento de los se­
micarters.
c) - Montar la funda en el ciguefial ( para protec­
ci6n del reten lado volante) y la cufia pre­
scritas; para facilitar la introduccion del grupo
ciguefial en el semicarter lado volante, el aco­
plamiento de los semicarters debe efectuarse
con el semicarter lado volante todavfa caliente
( aproximadan:ente 80
°
C).
