Separating crankcase halves ( placa a
drip tray under the engine to catch the
oil contained therein).
Fix the tool to the flywheel side of the
crankcase half and bring the clamp staff
screw lightly in contact against the crank­
shaft extremity ( clutch side).
Tighten the nut on the sliding plate
equiped with four legs; these latter will
then act on the 4 central studs of the
crankcase half causing it to separate
from its mating component.
Extraction of crankshaft: unscrew the
clamp screw previously- mentioned to
the end of its run so as to make contact
with the crankshaft extremity; act on
the central screw ( plate on flywheel
side) until the crankshaft is extracted.
- Separation of crankcase halves and ex­
traction of crankshaft; for avoiding de­
formation to the crankshafts in separa­
ting the crankcase halves, insert a wedge
between the crankshaft webs. See the
column « notes » for the tool compo­
nents to be used.
- Crankshaft bearing.
- Crankshaft cam and inner ring of main
roller bearing.

crankshaft can be carried out
without the tooling Indica­
ted,
insomuch as the crank­
case halves are freely sepa­
rated after having released
the junction nuts.
The crankshaft can be ex­
tracted using a wooden mal­
let. However, if necessary
the tool. T. 0023745, with
the part 20 can be used.
