Perform measurement as follows:
Switch to the DC-current measurement by pressing the µA/mA-key or to the AC voltage
measurement function by pressing the Shift-key first and then the µA/mA -key.
The unit is in “Auto” mode for automatic range selection.
If you wish to manually select the measurement range, press the RANGE-key.
For safety reasons start from the highest range and switch to a lower range if needed.
Connect the red test lead in series to the mA- input socket and the black test lead to COM - input
of the device.
If the current is unknown, for safety reasons always start at the highest measurement range and
switch to a lower range if needed.
The secondary display shows the frequency of your measured voltage if in AC-mode.
Notes:
The parallel resistance of the multimeter causes a low voltage drop (load voltage), which is
usually negligible. For measurements of precision circuits and precision measurements of this
voltage drop is necessary to consider and correct the measurement results.
When measuring negative DC currents a minus symbol appears on the left of the measured
values.
The Ampere range can measure up to 600mA. If exceeding overload "OL" is displayed.
An overload indication can also be caused by a blown fuse
7.7 Measuring a logic frequency
The frequency range is from 4Hz ~ 60MHz (V
pp
about 2V, square-wave signal), while the duty cycle
covers a measuring range from 10% ~ 90%.
For the measurement process as described:
Switch on and press the Hz%- key.
Connec
t the red test lead into the V / Ω / -II-/Hz- input and black lead into the COM input socket.
Connect black test lead to the ground side and the red test lead to the positive side of the
measuring circuit connected. Ensure good contact between the test leads.
The unit is in Auto mode for automatic range selection.
If you wish to manually select the measurement range, press the RANGE-key. For unknown
voltages always start in the highest range and switch to a low range if needed.
Read the measurement of the square wave frequency on the primary display. Value of the duty
cycle can be read in the secondary display.
Note:
If the frequency is above the detectable measurement range, then the display shows "OL".
If the amplitude of the signal is too low or the LOW level of the signal is> 1 V, the display shows
0.000.
7.8. Diode test function
The diode test function allows the determination of the applicability of diodes and other
semiconductor elements in defined circuits, as well as the determination of continuity (short circuit)
and voltage drop in the forward direction.
For the selection of the diode test press the
Ω ●))))-key several times until the diode symbol
I-
appears in the display.
Connect the red test lead to the V / Ω / -II-/Hz - Input and black test lead to COM input of the
device.
