5 • Routed application using RIP
Ethernet port A IP address configuration
Follow the Model 3224 Installation Guide or Model 6081RC Installation Guide to change IP address (if needed)
via CLI or use the web browser as follows:
1. Click on the Interface link in the
Configuration Menu
pane (see
figure 15
or
figure 16
on page 24) to dis-
play the
Interface Configuration
page (see figure 20).
2. At the interface configuration page, use the drop down menu and select Ethernet A. Enter the new IP
address and corresponding netmask, and click on the Configure button.

PPP Configuration
page is accessed from the main menu. Click on the PPP link
in the
Configuration Menu
pane to reach the
PPP
page (see
figure 38
).

The PPP status window provides at-a-glance view of PPP channel/transport status, as well as links to Global,
Configuration, Multilink, Channel, and G.SHDSL (3224) or H.110 (6081RC) configuration pages.
Global configuration
Before configuring a PPP channel, it is necessary to create a pool of IP addresses. Addresses from this pool will
be later assigned automatically or manually by the user, to the local and remote PPP links (these are WAN IP
addresses for the PPP interfaces at each end of the link).
