PPP Performance Statistics

If service type is PPP, PPP Performance Statistics are available:

PPP

The PPP performance statistics occupy up to two screens, described in

Table 3-19, PPP Performance Statistics

. The second screen displays statistics for

PPP circuits configured as IP enabled.

All counts continue to increment until the maximum value is reached (2

–2), then

the count starts over.

What It Indicates

PPP Performance Statistics – Page 1

At the top of the screen, select Net

as the link for

which PPP performance statistics are displayed.

PPP Link Up Time

The number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds the link has
been active.

# of Inactives

The number of times the link has changed from active to
inactive.

Keepalives Lost

The number of Echo-Request packets sent for which no
Echo-Reply packet was received.

LCP State

The state of the Link Control Protocol (LCP) state machine, as
described by RFC 1661.

NCP IPCP State

The state of the Network Control Protocol (NCP) IP Control
Protocol (IPCP) state machine.

Magic Number

The Magic-Number configured for the circuit.

Total Frames Tx/Rx

The number of frames and octets transmitted and received.

Control Frames Tx/Rx

The number of LCP and IPCP control frames and octets
transmitted and received.

Keepalive Tx/Rx

The number of keepalive packets sent (Echo-Request) and
received (Echo-Reply).

Protocol Rejects

The number of times a protocol reject has been sent and
received.

Frames Discarded

The number of transmitted and received frames that have been
discarded.

HDLC Tx Underruns

The number of High-level Data Link Control (HDLC) transmitter
underruns on the link.

HDLC Rx Overruns

The number of HDLC receiver overruns on the link.

HDLC Rx CRC Errors

The number of HDLC received CRC errors.

HDLC Rx Non-Octet
Frames

The number of HDLC received non-octet frames.
