Troubleshooting (Advanced)
• Right-click the
on the notification area, and click [On] in [Manual Switching].

In the Setup Utility, is [CD/DVD Drive Power] set to [Off]? (
)
If this is set to off, unless Windows is running, it is not possible to turn on the drive.
Disc playback and writing is not possible
z
Make sure the inserted disc is a compatible media type. For more about compatible media types, see “Disk Information”
(
).
z
You may need to clean the lens or disc.
• Cleaning the disc
z
Check whether the disc is distorted, damaged, or dirty.
z
When inserting a disc, follow the procedure below. Make sure the disc is inserted securely.
A
Slide the drive power/open switch, and open the disc cover.
B
Slide the disc into the drive under the keyboard with the label side up.
C
Press firmly on the center of the disc until you hear it click into place.
To use B’s CLiP
z
Install B’s CLiP. You will need the serial number to install (

“Troubleshooting (Basic)/Error Code/Message” “Reinstalling
B’s Recorder/B’s CLiP” in the
Operating Instructions
).

Click
(Start) and input “c:\util\bha\clip”, and press
Enter
.
B
Right-click [setup] in [clip] folder and click [Run as Administrator].
If there are two or more “setup” files, right-click the file whose [Type] is [Application].
z
Follow the on-screen instructions.
When a disc is inserted, it is not played automatically
z
Remove the disc and reinsert it.
• If an AutoPlay CD does not start after the computer resumes from the sleep or hibernation, remove the disc from the
drive, then reinsert the disc again after a 15 second wait.
z
Follow the procedure below.

Click
(Start) - [Control Panel] - [Play CDs or other media automatically]
B
Click right [
] of the item you want to automatically play and choose the action to play.
C
Click [Save].
If the problem persists, refer to the disc’s operating instructions or other sources to play the disc.
